Gary Boyd faces a trip to the European Tour Qualifying School after failing to retain his full playing priviliges.
The County professional finished in a tie for 37th at the Hong Kong Open but the cheque for 10,791 Euros he secured wasn’t enough to ensure he finished the regular season in the top 115 on the Race to Dubai money list.
A season’s earnings of 182,592 Euros gave Boyd a 122nd place standing which means he is likely to be in Spain from Saturday for the six-round qualifying stage which is being held at the PGA Catalunya resort in Girona.
The top 25 finishers and ties will earn a tour card for the 2014 season.
In Hong Kong, Boyd recorded rounds of 68, 71, 70 and 69 for a two-under-par total of 278 which was 13 shots behind the winner, Miguel Angel Jimenez.
