Action in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League and the NFA Junior Cup was sparse following the recent wet weather.

But struggling Wellingborough Town did get a game in at Blackstones in the Premier Division but were cruelly denied a much-needed victory as the hosts grabbed a 3-3 draw at the death.

Robbie Pearce gave Stones the lead but Glen Hawkins brought the Doughboys level after 42 minutes.

Nathan Heycock put Wellingborough in front after the break but they were pegged back by Luke Hunnings’ goal.

Jon Tite looked to have won it for the visitors when he scored with a last-minute free-kick but, in the third minute of stoppage-time, Danny Barker charged down a clearance and the ball found its way in off the post.

In Division One, Whitworth were soundly beaten 4-1 at ON Chenecks, who took the lead through Calvin Budd.

James Allcock doubled the advantage before Ashley Bradshaw pulled one back for the Flourmen.

But there would be no grand fightback as Harry Barnes scored twice in the last eight minutes to seal the home side’s victory.

Raunds Town, meanwhile, were hit by two late goals as Bourne won 2-0 at Kiln Park.

It was the first minute of stoppage-time when former Shopmate Fernand Bass put the visitors in front and Ben Easson wrapped it up with another before the end.
