It was a bad day for the local teams in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division as all four were beaten.

Daren Young’s first game back in charge of Stewarts & Lloyds ended in a 4-0 defeat at leaders St Ives as Conor Washington, Dan Newman, Karl Gibbs and Jon Stead found the net.

It was an even worse day for Irchester United as they were thrashed 11-1 by Spalding United at Alfred Street.

Shane Tolley hit four and Dan Cotton added a hat-trick while Luke Kennedy (2), Tom James and Chris Hall were also on target as the Tulips ran riot. Ross Whitney scored the Romans’ consolation.

Wellingborough Town were also well beaten as they lost 3-0 at home to Boston Town.

Ian Dunn (2) and Simon Mowbray were the visitors’ scorers.

Desborough Town also lost but it was a narrow contest as they were edged out 2-1 at Deeping.

Michael Byrne and Ciaran Holt put the home side 2-0 up but Kevin Byrne pulled a goal back for Ar Tarn early in the second half.

And Deeping had to see the game out with 10 men after Chris Logan saw red for a second bookable offence.

It was a much better day for the local clubs in Division One.

Whitworth produced the comeback of the day as they fought back from 3-1 down to beat Buckingham Town at London Road.

Chris Robson put the visitors in front before Cavell Jarvis levelled.

But Buckingham looked good at the break after goals from Kyle Stimpson and Ben Shepherd.

Matt Judge started Whitworth’s revival a minute into the second half before Jarvis made it 3-3.

And the Flourmen’s comeback was completed three minutes from the end thanks to Luke Raftery’s goal.

Leaders AFC Rushden & Diamonds held on to top spot but only just.

Their clash at Olney Town looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Alfie Taylor struck his sixth goal of the season in the final minute.

Rothwell Corinthians made it seven points out of nine with a 2-0 success at Potton United.

Matty Clarke’s team took the lead when Elliot Roberts was played in by Sam Johnson and beat the home goalkeeper with a crisp finish.

And Corinthians wrapped up the points in the second half as Andy White found the net with Johnson again the provider.

Raunds Town inflicted a fourth defeat on Harrowby United with a 2-1 win at Kiln Park.

Charlie Fowler gave the Shopmates a half-time lead but Liam Harper levelled for the visitors.

However, Josh Davis was the home side’s hero as he grabbed the winner 10 minutes from the end.

Thrapston Town grabbed a late equaliser as they drew 2-2 at ON Chenecks.

Iain Blaikie put the visitors in front but the hosts looked on course for victory after goals from Calvin Budd and Justin McKenzie.

However, Jordan Cross struck with five minutes left to seal a point for Ian Walker’s team.
