Phil Mason’s Wellingborough Town face a tough test in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League tonight (Tuesday).

The Doughboys claimed a much-needed home win on Saturday as they beat Harborough Town at the Dog & Duck.

But they will have their work cut out this evening as they host unbeaten league leaders St Ives, who have won 10 out of their 13 matches so far.

Desborough Town are bang in form after they thrashed Swaffham Town 6-0 in the first round of the FA Vase at the weekend – a result that earned them a trip to Causeway United in the next stage.

Steve Walker’s side are back in action tonight as they take on Quorn at the Waterworks Field.

Irchester United, meanwhile, dropped to the foot of the table at the weekend and they play host to mid-table Huntingdon Town tonight.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds were the other local club to advance in the FA Vase on Saturday as they won 2-1 at Yaxley. And in yesterday’s draw, they were handed a home tie against Basford United.

The second round ties in the FA Vase are due to take place on Saturday, November 17.
