Just three games survived the wet weather in the Rushden & District Sunday League and the pick of them came in Division Three as Shelley Road Reserves edged out Saxon Reserves 6-5.
Paul Eckins was the star of the show for Shelley Road as he scored four and was well supported by Dan Jones and Harry Stredwick. Ashley Taylor (2), Jamie Souster (2) and Carl Standish were on target for Saxon but it wasn’t enough.
The other game to go ahead in Division Three saw Exiles pick up their second win of the season as they beat Ranelagh Falcons 3-1 thanks to Marcus Lewis’ brace and Nathan Warne. Leon Simpson scored the consolation.
Just one other match survived and that was in Division One as Stirrup Cup and Woodford Stars shared the points in a 0-0 draw.
