Corby Town started life without ex-manager Tommy Wright with a 3-0 loss at Hednesford.

The Steelmen parted company with their boss at the weekend and Eddie Johnson took charge for the Evo-Stik Northern League Premier Division clash.

However, it turned out to be another disappointing night in the midlands as the home side eased to victory.

Former Corby man Ash Sammons gave Hednesford a 20th-minute lead and it stayed that way until deep into the second half.

Danny Glover saw his penalty for the hosts saved by Monty Parkes - but there was to be no reprieve.

George Carline and Jim Mutton both found the net in the final 20 minutes to inflict more misery on bottom-of-the-table Corby.
