Ian Sampson believes his Corby Town side will be the underdogs in most of their matches in the Blue Square Bet North this season.
The Steelmen continue the search for their first points of the season when they take on Brackley Town in a Northamptonshire derby at Steel Park today (3pm).
Sampson’s men have been on the end of three successive defeats so far with the latest being a heavy 5-1 loss at Worcester City on Saturday.
Brackley, on the other hand, have enjoyed a superb start to the campaign after winning promotion last season.
They have won three out of three and will be hot favourites to keep that run going this afternoon.
But Sampson is hoping he gets the right sort of reaction from his squad as they look to upset the odds.
“I think we will be the underdogs in most of our games this season,” Sampson said.
“We have a small squad and a tight budget to work with and we have had a disappointing start to the season.
“But it has been individual errors that have been so crucial for us and if we can rid ourselves of those then we will give ourselves a better chance.
“We will be looking for a big reaction against Brackley. We want to put things right.
“They are a good team and have started the season with a bang.
“Jon Brady has managed to keep the vast majority of his squad together and they are serving him well at the moment.”
