Peterborough United have denied rumours they are to move to Nene Park, the former home of Rushden & Diamonds and Kettering Town.

Club chief executive Bob Symns would not deny that talks had taken place with the Nene Park landlords in the past, but he has confirmed no talks are currently ongoing.

Symns said: “Peterborough United are not in negotiations to move to Nene Park. There are no plans to move there.”

The BBC had claimed a move to Nene Park, which is 27 miles away from Peterborough, was being considered as an alternative to London Road.

The club’s lease on their current stadium, which is owned by Peterborough City Council, expires next year

Posh are in discussion with their landlords about their future at London Road. Redvelopment work on both terraces at the stadium are due to start later this year.
