Steve Walker has resigned as manager of Desborough Town.

The news comes following Ar Tarn’s 4-3 defeat at AFC Kempston in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division at the weekend.

A statement from the club confirmed Walker will continue to help out in other capacities while his assistant-manager Richard Scott will take charge of the team for Saturday’s FA Vase second-round clash at Blaby & Whetstone.

The club statement said: “Desborough Town FC sincerely regret to announce the resignation of their first-team manager, Steve Walker.

“The club wishes to put on record their fulsome appreciation of his work for, and continuing commitment to, the club.

“We have made great progress under his leadership and are very grateful for what he has achieved during his time as manager.

“We are pleased that he will continue to be helping the club in other capacities and will be still associated with us.

“Our assistant-manager, Richard Scott, will take charge of the team for the FA Vase match at Blaby on November 16.”
