Stewarts & Lloyds picked up a valuable point in their battle for survival in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division as they drew 1-1 at fellow strugglers Sileby Rangers.

And the Foundrymen could even have had more as they led from the sixth minute through Jake Bettles before going on to create the better chances.

But they were undone 14 minutes from the end when Lance Allen grabbed an equaliser for the hosts.

Desborough Town suffered a 2-0 defeat at sixth-placed Yaxley, who scored a goal in each half to seal the points.

Andy Furnell put the hosts in front after nine minutes and the victory was confirmed four minutes from full-time when Scott Carter netted.

The weather played havoc with the Division One fixture list again and the only local side to see their game survive was Rushden & Higham as they hosted bottom markers Woodford United.

The visitors put up stern resistance in a goalless first half but the Lankies killed them off with a four-goal blast in 13 second-half minutes.

Daryl Lawman struck twice before Jon Tite hit the third and Lawman completed a 13-minute hat-trick from the penalty spot.

And Ryan Cormack rounded off a fine second period with a minute to go.
