Tom Lorraine was the hero for AFC Rushden & Diamonds as they snatched a last-gasp 2-1 victory at Newport Pagnell to return to winning ways in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division.
Lorraine put Andy Peaks’ side in front after nine minutes but the lead was shortlived with Josh Crawley levelling soon after.
However, Diamonds won it in the final minute when Lorraine reacted quickly to score from close-range following a corner.
In the Division One derby, Rothwell Corinthians moved up to seventh place as they made it two wins in the space of four days with a 3-2 success at Irchester United.
Kyle Locklin gave the visitors the lead but the Romans replied almost immediately through Jack Dyson.
Corinthians regained the lead 10 minutes into the second half through Andy White and they were given a 3-1 cushion when Cameron Starsmore struck.
Ryan Lovell pulled a goal back for Irchester with 10 minutes left but it was not enough to halt their losing run, which now stands at seven matches.
