It proved to be a day of frustration for both Wellingborough Town and Desborough Town as the weather denied them victories in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division.

The Doughboys were 3-0 up at AFC Kempston when the storm, which swept across the country on Saturday afternoon, arrived at half-time and they were unable to start the second half with the pitch waterlogged.

It was a similar situation for Ar Tarn at Holbeach United as they were 2-0 up thanks to Mark Forbes and Michael Byrne when the weather halted proceedings after 35 minutes.

Three Division One matches suffered the same fate with Rushden & Higham 1-0 to the good when their clash with high-flying Eynesbury Rovers was abandoned after 40 minutes.

Whitworth were drawing 0-0 with Potton United when their game was ended by the weather 10 minutes before the break.

And Raunds Town’s trip to Buckingham Town proved to be a wasted one when the match was halted at half-time with the two sides locked at 1-1. Luke Stevens was on target for the Shopmates.

All the other games involving the local clubs were postponed.
