A huge night lies ahead for Wellingborough Town this evening (Tuesday).

The Doughboys take on fellow ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division side Deeping Rangers at the Dog & Duck as the two teams battle it out for a place in the league’s Knockout Cup final.

Wellingborough are now under the leadership of caretaker managers Jason Turner and Stuart Smeathers following the departure of Craig Adams to Bedford Town last week.

And the new bosses enjoyed a winning start as Turner grabbed the winner in Saturday’s 3-2 derby success at Desborough Town.

It is also a busy night of action in Division One of the UCL with the pick of the games coming at Seargents Lawn where Rothwell Corinthians take on Thrapston Town in a local derby.

Thrapston were the big winners at the weekend as they piled the misery on bottom side Woodford United with a 10-1 demolition at Chancery Lane.

Corinthians, meanwhile, will be hoping to bounce back this evening after they went down 2-0 at high-flying Lutterworth Athletic on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Burton Park Wanderers – 3-2 losers at Peterborough Sports last weekend – face another tricky test as they go to Northampton Spencer while Irchester United take on Buckingham Town at Alfred Street.

Whitworth are also on home soil tonight as they entertain Blackstones.
