AFC Rushden & Diamonds will be in action on Saturday, even though they won’t be starting the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division season just yet.

Diamonds’ home clash with Sleaford Town was postponed yesterday (Wednesday) following the news that Sleaford manager Kris Jones was in a critical condition following a road accident on Monday.

Andy Peaks’ team will get some match action, however, as a home friendly with Spartan South Midlands Division One side Codicote has now been arranged.

The game will kick off at 3pm and prices will be the same as other friendlies at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions. Under-8s will gain free entry.

Diamonds will start their UCL Premier Division campaign next Tuesday night when they head to Harborough Town.
