AFC Rushden & Diamonds remain on course for a ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League double after beating Premier Division title rivals Wisbech Town to book a place in the Knockout Cup final.

Andy Peaks’ men will take on Division One side Potton United in the showpiece next month following their 2-1 success at the Dog & Duck last night (Tuesday).

Brad Harris’ fine form in front of goal continued as he gave Diamonds the lead before Danny Beaumont levelled for the visitors.

However, Jason Turner marked his return to the side with the winner in the final minute.

In the Premier Division, Wellingborough Town claimed a 2-2 draw at Eynesbury Rovers.

Dan Spaughton put the Doughboys in front but Jordan Nicholson struck either side of half-time to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage.

However, Joe Rich was on target to earn Wellingborough a share of the spoils.

In Division One, Irchester United secured their fourth win in a row as they edged out Buckingham Town 3-2 at Alfred Street.

Martin Brown’s free-kick put the Romans in front but the visitors turned it around before half-time thanks to Mitch Brent and Meshach Hendricksen.

But two goals in a minute from Nathen Heycock after the break ensured an Irchester victory to put them on their best run of form for five years.
