AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ march up the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division continued as they made it seven wins from eight matches with a comfortable 3-0 success over Oadby Town at the Dog & Duck.

Jason Turner’s impressive form in front of goal continued as he opened the scoring and Elliott Lamb-Johnson doubled the advantage with a free-kick before half-time.

And Russ Dunkley came off the bench to complete the scoring late on.

Desborough Town were on the end of stunning fightback from Newport Pagnell as the hosts battled back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

Ar Tarn looked to be heading to victory when Michael Byrne and David Glass put them 2-0 up inside 11 minutes.

Josh Crawley pulled a goal back before half-time before a second-half brace from Dom Lawless sealed victory for the hosts as Desborough slipped to a third defeat in a row.

Wellingborough Town were involved in a remarkable game as they went down 5-4 at Thurnby Nirvana.

Pearson Mwanyongo put the hosts in front but Joe Bloomfield levelled and Michael Cirelli gave the Doughboys the lead on 14 minutes.

Reece Morris made it 2-2 before the break and he struck again early in the second half as Thurnby regained the advantage.

Wellingborough hit back through Jon Mitchell but the home side pulled away when Liam Canavan’s goal and Ash Day’s penalty made it 5-3.

Jake Newman fired home a spot-kick for the visitors in the final 10 minutes but they were unable to find an equaliser.
