AFC Rushden & Diamonds bounced back from their FA Vase exit by securing a spot in the next stage of the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Knockout Cup with a 2-1 success at next door neighbours Whitworth.
The Division One side took the lead through Cavell Jarvis after 21 minutes.
But Diamonds completed the turnaround before the break with a Jonny Hazell own-goal bringing them level before Adam Confue grabbed what proved to be the winner in the last minute of the first half when he converted Matt Gearing’s cross.
Raunds Town were forced to play the majority of their Division One clash against Bourne Town with just 10 men but still claimed a 4-2 victory at Kiln Park.
Glenn Turner gave the Shopmates an early lead but Jones De Sousa levelled, only for Gavin Fitzgerald to regain the lead for the hosts with just 12 minutes on the clock.
Raunds were down to 10 men after 17 minutes when Matt Harris was sent off for a challenge, which resulted in a penalty scored by Harley Williams.
But the Shopmates didn’t let their numerical disadvantage bother them and Dave Townsend put them 3-2 up before half-time and then wrapped up the points with his 14th goal of the season on 71 minutes.
