Rothwell Corinthians became AFC Kempston Rovers’ latest victims in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division but not before they had given the unbeaten high-fliers a fright.
Corinthians were on course to become the first side to beat Kempston this season when they took the lead through Joe Wright early in the second half.
But Sam Macrae levelled things up and then broke Corinthians’ hearts with a dramatic winner in the final minute as Kempston moved to within three points of leaders Leicester Nirvana.
Desborough Town’s home clash with Yaxley and Wellingborough Town’s trip to Kirby Muxloe were both postponed.
A superb second-half fightback proved to be in vain as Whitworth slipped to a 4-3 home defeat to promotion-chasing Potton United in Division One.
Potton moved into a 3-0 lead inside 50 minutes thanks to Gary Ansell-Carter and a brace from George Kiely.
Alfie Taylor started the fightback and then struck again to make it 3-2 before Deven Ellwood looked to have completed the comeback with a glancing header.
But Potton snatched all three points when Adam Marsh slotted home two minutes into stoppage-time
All the other Division One matches involving local clubs fell victim to the weather.
