The post-Aidy Mann era begins for Rushden & Higham United in Division One of the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League tonight (Tuesday).

Mann resigned as the Lankies’ manager following their 3-1 defeat at Bugbrooke on Saturday.

That made it a run of just one win in 12 league matches for Rushden, who head to high-flying Thrapston Town this evening.

Dale Brunton has stepped up from first team coach to take charge of the Lankies while the search for a new boss is conducted and he will lead them for the first time at Chancery Lane.

Thrapston, meanwhile, are chasing a third home win in a row after beating Olney Town 2-1 at the weekend.

Whitworth are also in action as they look to cement their place in the top seven.

The Flourmen beat Blackstones 3-2 on Saturday and will be fancied to pick up another three points tonight against struggling St Neots Town Saints.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds have been in unstoppable form at home of late and they take on AFC Kempston Rovers at the Dog & Duck tonight.

Andy Peaks’ men moved up to third in the Premier Division thanks to a 4-1 success over Thurnby Nirvana on Saturday, which saw them make it five league wins in a row at home in which they have scored 22 goals.

Thurnby, meanwhile, are the visitors to Desborough Town this evening as Ian Walker’s men look to build on their 2-2 draw at Sleaford Town on Saturday, which ended of four straight league defeats.
