Desborough Town moved back up to fourth in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division after they saw off local rivals Rothwell Corinthians 4-1 at the Waterworks Field.

All the goals came in the second half with John Dean and Jason Turner’s penalty putting Ar Tarn 2-0 up while Corinthians were reduced to 10 men.

The visitors pulled one back but late goals from Will Arnold and Jake Bettles rounded off a good Easter weekend for Chris Bradshaw’s team.

Wellingborough Town’s seven-game winning streak was ended as they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Cogenhoe United at the Dog & Duck.

Having fallen behind, Adam Speight levelled for the Doughboys before Cogenhoe regained the lead before half-time.

But Stuart Goosey’s team kept their unbeaten run going thanks to Lloyd Buckby’s second-half equaliser.

The Division One season came to an end yesterday.

Whitworth, who were promoted following their 5-2 win at Lutterworth Athletic on Saturday, rounded off their season with a 2-2 draw at local rivals Irchester United.

The Romans, who finished eighth after a good campaign, led twice but the Flourmen hit back to secure a point.

Stewarts & Lloyds’ tough season ended on a losing note as they went down 4-2 at Oakham United.

The Foundrymen finished second-from-bottom, just above Burton Park Wanderers.
