AFC Rushden & Diamonds have the chance to move five points clear at the top of the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division tonight.

The leaders take on Eynesbury Rovers at the Dog & Duck knowing a win, with second-placed Holbeach United not in action, will open up a clear gap between themselves and the chasing pack.

Andy Peaks’ men kept their promotion bid on course with a comfortable 5-1 success at bottom club Long Buckby at the weekend.

In Division One, Irchester United will be aiming to build on their 3-1 victory at fellow strugglers Stewarts & Lloyds on Saturday when they head to Olney Town this evening.

S&L, meanwhile, now have another new manager at the helm after previous boss Alex Cross left the club following that loss to the Romans, which was the Foundrymen’s 19th defeat in as many league matches this season.

Cross has been replaced by Andy Norman, who was previously at Northants Combination side Corby Ravens and he will be assisted by Neil Healey.

The draw has been made for the quarter-finals of the NFA Junior Cup following the last 16 matches at the weekend.

Raunds Town will travel to UCL Division One rivals ON Chenecks while Thrapston Town and Rothwell Corinthians are on the road at Northants Combination clubs Harpole and JK Blisworth respectively.
