Tommy Wright knows a good opportunity to rack up some more points in the race for promotion lies ahead for Corby Town over the next few games.
The Steelmen made it three home wins in a row as two goals from Shane Byrne and another from Wilson Carvalho sealed a 3-0 success over Frome Town at the weekend.
They are now preparing for a double-header against Biggleswade Town as they face them at Steel Park on Wednesday night before a quick return fixture on Saturday.
Those games are followed by home clashes against the current bottom two - Burnham and Banbury United.
Corby will move into second place and to within a point of Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division leaders Poole Town with a win on Wednesday.
And boss Wright is determined to ensure his team continue their winning sequence to keep the pressure on their promotion rivals.
“You look at the next few games and we have got Biggleswade twice in the space of a few days,” he said.
“We need to try to to win those and then we have the bottom two at home in the two games after that.
“The games against Burnham and Banbury have to be six points. If we can’t do that then really we won’t deserve to go up so we have to make sure we stay focused.
“We have set the boys their targets and hopefully they can hit them and keep us right up there.”
Wright, meanwhile, had words of praise for midfielder Byrne after his second-half brace helped wrap up another well-deserved success at the weekend.
“Shane really took control of the game and some of the things he was doing were unbelievable,” the Steelmen manager added.
“I think Cleveland Taylor plays a big role in it all because I put a lot of responsibility on him.
“People talk about the ‘complete midfielder’ and Shane is really developing into that box-to-box player.
“It’s been a case of trying to add goals to it and he has done that in this game and it is only adding to what is a very good player.”
