Tommy Wright is hoping Corby Town can get more points on the board quickly as they prepare for a trip to Halesowen Town tonight (Tuesday).
The Steelmen got off the mark in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division at the weekend as they shared a goalless draw with Matlock Town at Steel Park.
Halesowen, meanwhile, suffered an opening-day defeat at Buxton and Corby boss Wright now wants his team to do whatever it takes for them to get their first win of the campaign under their belts.
“It’s an important game for both clubs,” Wright said.
“They got beaten at the weekend and I believe they lost their last three home pre-season friendlies so they will be keen to get all that out of their system,
“We are coming out of a game at the weekend in which I thought we were the better side and created the better chances.
“But a win, no matter how it comes, is really important at this stage. You want to get as many points on the board as quickly as possible.”
Wright, meanwhile, is hopeful that he will be able to get frontman Femi Orenuga “involved” in tonight’s clash.
The summer signing missed the first game of the season and the Corby boss added: “We will try to have a look at Femi before the game, I think we have to.
“But if he is to feature it will be from the bench.
“I have to be a bit cautious over it but if I can get him involved then it will be good for us.”
