Corby Town will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ under-21s team in a friendly at Steel Park on Wednesday night.
The Steelmen had been due to host Arlesey Town in the second round of the Red Insure Cup but that was postponed after their Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division rivals drew in the FA Trophy at the weekend.
The Red Insure Cup clash will now be played at Steel Park a week on Wednesday, meaning the home league match with Biggleswade Town will have to be re-arranged.
But Tommy Wright has moved to organise a friendly to give his players some match action ahead of Saturday’s trek to Dorchester Town.
The Wolves team is managed by Scott Sellars and they currently sit in 10th place in Division Two of the U21 Premier League.
The Steelmen were without a match at the weekend and haven’t played since beating Desborough Town in the NFA Hillier Senior Cup last week.
Wednesday’s game will kick off at 7.45pm.
Corby, meanwhile, have been handed a trip to Peterborough Northern Star in the last four of the Hillier Cup. The tie is due to be played on Tuesday, February 3.
