Corby Town have completed their first signing of the summer in the form of striker Tom Berwick.
The Steelmen are preparing for a Southern League Premier Division campaign - the league Leamington won last season - and boss Chris Plummer has finally got his man as the Brakes revealed that Corby had tried to sign Berwick during the second half of last season.
Berwick, who was previously at Daventry Town, was the Brakes’ top scorer for a large part of last season before being sidelined through injury.
Leamington manager Paul Holleran said: “Tom has decided to leave us for a new challenge at Corby Town, and we thank him for his efforts during his time with us and wish him all the best for the future.”
Corby confirmed the news of the new signing on their twitter feed at the weekend and also revealed three of last season’s squad have also agreed terms.
Among them is influential centre-half and Corby lad Paul Malone while goalkeeper Paul Walker and midfielder Sam Ives are also staying at Steel Park
