Youngsters are being given the chance to try out for Corby Town’s academy this week.
First team and academy manager Tommy Wright has organised an under-18 friendly against Barclays Premier League leaders Leicester City’s youngsters at Steel Park this Sunday.
The club is now holding an open trials evening on Friday for their intake to the full-time academy for September with at least five of the successful trialists set to be given the chance to feature in the match against the Foxes.
The trial for those aged between 16 and 18 years old is being held at Steel Park from 6.30pm on Friday.
Wright said: “I have organised a game against Leicester City academy for the Sunday after the trial and at least five of the players who will be looking at joining us as scholars in September’s intake will be selected to represent the club in this game alongside the current crop of academy players.
“Parents will be welcome and will get to hear more about the educational aspects of the program that we offer and what the players will be doing on a day to day basis.”
