Corby Town cruised into the last eight of the NFA Hillier Senior Cup as they recorded their first victory of the season.

The Steelmen brushed aside United Counties League Premier Division side Peterborough Northern Star by a 5-0 scoreline at Steel Park.

Shaquille Whittingham sent them on their way by scoring his first goals for the club to give them a 2-0 lead and Andre Johnson added another before the break.

Bradley Marshall headed home Corby’s fourth and the win was wrapped up by Connor Kennedy.

Desborough Town also made comfortable progress as they won 4-0 at Brackley Town Saints.

In-form Ar Tarn took the lead through Dan White and Jake Bettles doubled the advantage before half-time.

John Dean made it 3-0 and the win was wrapped up with a fourth late on.

Wellingborough Town’s fine season also continued as they produced a fine fightback to move into the quarter-finals.

The Doughboys trailed 3-1 at ON Chenecks at half-time but stunned their hosts with three unanswered goals in the second half to seal a 4-3 success.
