Corby Town’s early-season problems took a turn for the worse as they suffered a 6-0 defeat at Hemel Hempstead Town.
The Steelmen started with a 3-0 loss to Burnham in the Calor League Premier Division at Steel Park on Saturday but things didn’t get any better in their first away game of the season.
Tom Berwick, Tom Ingram and Avelino Vieira all came into the Corby line-up with Josh Moreman, Tom James and Liam Hurst making way.
But Chris Plummer’s team fell behind after two minutes when Lewis Toomey scored and the same player doubled the advantage 10 minutes later. And it was 3-0 before the break when Jordan Parkes found the far corner.
And it didn’t get any better after the break either. David King made it 4-0 just past the hour and Parkes’ second of the game came from the penalty spot.
The Steelmen’s misery was completed late on when Charlie Mpi headed home.
