Declan Rogers has become the latest player to depart AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
The midfielder had initially agreed to stay at the Dog & Duck for the forthcoming Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Centre campaign.
But the club, who play their first friendly at Rushden & Higham United on Saturday, have now confirmed he has left.
In a statement, Diamonds said: “Having initially agreed to stay with the club for the Southern League Division One Central Division campaign next season, Declan has decided to look for something more local.
“The club would like to thank Declan for all he did for the Diamonds last season.”
Rogers joined Diamonds from Huntingdon Town in January and went on to play a key role in their ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division title success.
He becomes the second player in a matter of days to leave the club following Adam Confue’s decision to re-sign for Daventry Town, although Diamonds did sign Jason Kilbride at the weekend and are expected to further strengthen their squad after of the opening friendly on Saturday.
