Richards returns to Diamonds

AFC Rushden & Diamonds have re-signed winger Shawn Richards.

Shawn Richards is back at AFC Rushden & Diamonds

The 26-year-old is the latest member of last season’s squad, which reached the Southern League Division One Central play-off final, to return to the club as they try to secure a top-five finish in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South.

Richards left Diamonds at the end of the last campaign to move up to a higher level with Brackley Town.

He made 23 appearances last season, scoring five goals including the opener in the 2-1 victory over Kettering Town in the NFA Hillier Senior Cup final last May,

Richards is set to be part of Diamonds’ squad for tomorrow’s trip to Northwich Victoria.
