Chris Plummer will ask his Corby Town side for a “complete performance” when they head to second-placed Guiseley in the Blue Square Bet North tonight.

The Steelmen boss was left disappointed, particularly with the first-half performance, after Saturday’s 0-0 home draw with Histon.

And while he has described as this evening’s clash with the promotion chasers as “a big ask” for his team, he believes they have shown they can mix it with the best in the division.

“We are looking for that complete performance from the lads,” the Steelmen boss said.

“Once again at the weekend we played okay for 45 minutes, we need to find the consistency and make sure we do it for 90 minutes.

“Guiseley are coming into the game on the back of a great win (5-2 at Bradford Park Avenue) and they are chasing automatic promotion. We know it is a big ask for us, especially with such a long trip on a Tuesday night.

“But we were in a similar position when we went to Chester not that long ago and we gave them a fright. We have shown we can compete with the best teams in the league.”

Plummer is set to have the same players available for tonight’s clash and he confirmed skipper Jason Crowe may miss the game through injury like his did at the weekend with Saturday’s trip to Stalybridge Celtic being a more realistic target.
