Andy Peaks insists a trip Lincoln United tomorrow (Tuesday) night won’t “faze” his AFC Rushden & Diamonds players.

Diamonds will head to Lincolnshire for a Buildbase FA Trophy second qualifying round replay after the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South rivals battled out a cracking 3-3 draw at the Dog & Duck on Saturday.

Diamonds had to fight back on three occasions to earn a second chance to advance into the third qualifying round.

And, with his team now unbeaten in 10 matches in all competitions, Peaks is confident his players can give another good account of themselves in the replay.

“They (Lincoln) have got a better home record than they have away but we haven’t been bad on the road ourselves,” Peaks said.

“It certainly doesn’t faze us, I am confident we can give anyone at our level a good game.

“If you are going to do well in these competitions, you have to go to tough places and pull a result out.

“Whatever players are available they have got to be up for it.

“We passed the ball well on Saturday and we looked good at times. It was just the defending that cost us so we need to tighten up for Tuesday.”

Diamonds will assess the fitness of defensive duo Jack Ashton (knee) and Liam Dolman (calf) ahead of the replay after both missed Saturday’s clash.

The game looks set to come too soon for Ashton with Dolman having the better chance of being fit but Diamonds will be boosted by the return of Rory Winters after he completed a two-match ban at the weekend.
