Diamonds will be looking to bounce back after they suffered a second defeat in a row as they went down 3-0 at Basford United on Saturday.

Diamonds will go into the midweek clash still in the final play-off position but only on goal difference from Basford while Leek Town moved to within two points of them at the weekend.

But Peaks is solely focused on ensuring the blip doesn’t become anything bigger as his team bid to tighten their grip on a top-five position.

“The players have got to raise it, we can’t waste the good work we have done so far,” the Diamonds boss said.

“We have still got to play a lot of the teams around us and we can’t afford to get on a bad run.

“Once that happens, it’s difficult to get out of it. It’s easy to get into habits in football, whether that is winning or losing.

“It means we now have to work a bit harder and I will be expecting a massive reaction tomorrow.

“We will need to have a better work rate, we will need better defending and we will need to be a lot better on the ball.”
