It was a case of ‘one in, one out’ at AFC Rushden & Diamonds at the weekend.

While Andy Peaks’ squad were taking part in a training and signing day at Overstone Park, the club confirmed attackig midfielder Jason Kilbride has now completed his move to the Dog & Duck from Peterborough Northern Star.

But Diamonds, who are gearing up for the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central campaign, also confirmed that midfielder Adam Confue has now left the club to re-sign for Daventry Town.

Peaks said: “I am sorry to lose Adam from the squad, he was brilliant for us last season.

“He lives in Daventry and they have offered something we can’t match. He leaves with our best wishes, and, as ever, the door is never closed.

“Until players actually sign this sort of thing can happen, hopefully I will be able to announce someone new in the next few days.”

It is understood that Peaks could confirm at least one more new signing this week as Diamonds now prepare for their opening pre-season friendly, which sees them head to Hayden Road to play Rushden & Higham United in the Chris Ruff Memorial Cup on Saturday.
