Tom James has been released by Corby Town.
The midfielder, who had also been filling in at left-back following an injury to skipper Gareth Jelleyman, played in last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Trafford in the FA Cup.
However, he has now been released with joint-manager Tommy Wright confirming the move was needed to enable him and fellow boss Andrew Wilson to strengthen in other areas.
Wright said: “This decision was carefully thought about but we work to a budget and unfortunately we need to strengthen the team in other areas.
“It is the best decision for the club moving forward. All at the club wish him well and he was a real pleasure to work with.”
