Corby Town slipped to defeat in Yorkshire as promotion-chasing Guiseley fought back from a goal down to claim a 2-1 success.
Boss Chris Plummer handed a start to Marc Manga with Avelino Vieira having to be content with a place on the substitutes’ bench while Liam Richardson took over at left-back with skipper Jason Crowe missing out through injury.
Top scorer Josh Moreman was also recalled to the starting line-up and he gave the Steelmen a shock lead just past the half-hour mark.
Sam Ives did superbly to find Moreman out on the wing and he cut inside before firing into the far corner from 20 yards.
The Steelmen managed to hold on until the 63rd minute when James Walshaw got the hosts back on level terms as he found the net after a goalmouth scramble.
And Corby were undone again 11 minutes from the end when Josh Wilson sealed all three points for the high-fliers with a fine strike.
The Steelmen are back on the road again at the weekend when they head to Stalybridge Celtic.
Steelmen: Walker, Webb, Malone, Piergianni, Richardson, Wedderburn, McGowan, Semple (sub Kaziboni, 58 mins), Ives, Manga (sub Vieira, 74 mins), Moreman. Subs not used: Harrison, Cuffy.
Goals: Moreman (32 mins, 0-1), Walshaw (63 mins, 1-1), Wilson (79 mins, 2-1).
