Claudiu Hoban had a night to remember as he hit all four goals to give Corby Town their second successive win with a 4-2 success at struggling Bedford Town.
After making an impression on debut in the 3-2 win over Truro City at the weekend, Hoban took things to another level at the Eyrie as he hit a first-half hat-trick before adding his fourth after the break.
It took just eight minutes for the Steelmen to make the breakthrough as Hoban unleashed a shot from the right corner of the area.
Aman Verma headed against the bar soon after from a corner but they did go 2-0 up when Hoban received the ball on the right and beat three players before finishing well.
Bedford did come back into it on 28 minutes when Jamie Nicholls’ shot is spilled by Paul Walker and Luca Seminerio scored from close range.
But the first half belonged to Hoban who was given the chance to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot after John Sonuga upended Greg Mills in area. And Hoban obliged as he stepped up to beat Lee Crockett from 12 yards.
It got even better for Corby and Hoban four minutes into the second half when he tucked home the fourth after a scramble from a corner.
Bedford did pull another back with Seminerio grabbing his second of the night but there was no stopping the Steelmen or Hoban as they picked up their fifth win in seven matches.
