AFC Rushden & Diamonds have completed two new signings ahead of this weekend’s trip to Gresley FC.
Boss Andy Peaks has swooped for experienced midfielder Ben Farrell and winger Merdi Maki, who played against Diamonds for United Counties League Premier Division side Sileby Rangers in an FA Cup clash back in August.
Thirty-year-old Farrell has previously featured for the likes of Bedford Town and also played in the Conference for Cambridge United while also having a brief spell at Kettering Town.
He played against Diamonds for Cambridge City in an FA Cup game three years ago.
Peaks said: “With a number of key games coming up at this crucial time, Ben and Merdi will provide additional options and competition for the squad.”
Both players will be available for this weekend’s game which sees Diamonds bidding to extend their unbeaten run in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South to 14 matches.
