Josh Moreman is set to hand Corby Town a boost as he appears to be winning his race to be fit for tomorrow (Wednesday) night’s Blue Square Bet North clash with Guiseley at Steel Park.
The Steelmen’s top scorer missed last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Colwyn Bay after picking up a knock in the 2-2 draw with Bishop’s Stortford.
It had been feared it was a serious injury but boss Chris Plummer confirmed the striker took part in full training with the rest of his team-mates last night.
“Josh took quite a heavy knock last week but he has trained this week and seems to have come through unscathed,” the Corby manager said.
“So it is looking very promising for the Guiseley game and it will be a big boost if he is fit.
“Before he got that injury, I thought he looked very sharp against Bishop’s Stortford and him going off, as well as having a red card, changed the face of the game.
“He looked more like the player who enjoyed such a good purple patch earlier in the season. Hopefully he can continue to produce that sort of form.”
Corby go into the game struggling at the wrong end of the table as Colwyn Bay’s win moved them to within four points of the Steelmen with two games in hand. Colwyn are due to play at Harrogate Town this evening.
