Mark Peters led Corby Town to their first point of the season as they sealed a 1-1 draw at Arlesey Town in the Calor League Premier Division.
It was a big day for Steelmen fans’ favourite Paul Malone who made his 100th appearance for the club after being named in interim manager Peters’ team.
Corby were forced into an early change as Liam Hurst replaced the injured Chris Carruthers but the Steelmen were much improved in a goalless first half.
And it looked like they might take all three points when a brilliant solo goal from Tom Berwick put them in front with seven minutes to go.
But it was not to be as Arlesey responded soon after thanks to James Hatch as they claimed a share of the points.
However, it meant Corby claimed their first point of the campaign and they are back in action on Bank Holiday Monday when they take on Hinckley United at Steel Park (3pm).
Steelmen line-up: Walker, Ives, Jelleyman, McGowan, Malone, Ingram, Shariff, Carruthers, Berwick, Moyo, James. Subs: Moreman, Arber, Vieira, Hurst, Lamb-Johnson.
