This was the moment Kettering Town manager Marcus Law launched into an explosive half-time team talk during last night’s Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division clash at Redditch United.
The video, taken by Poppies fan James Loader, was filmed just outside the Kettering dressing-room after they had gone in 1-0 down at the break.
Law can be heard giving his players a passionate dressing down following their first-half display. And the manager’s words (some of which have had to be bleeped out!) clearly had a big impact.
The Poppies produced a superb fightback in the second half with Callum Westwood bringing them level before substitute Spencer Weir-Daley scored twice to secure a fine 3-1 victory.
Kettering are now preparing for Saturday’s trip to Basingstoke Town.
And Weir-Daley was pleased that there was an appropriate reaction to the half-time exchanges in the away dressing-room.
“People may be aware that there were a few words said at half-time,” the Poppies striker said.
“It wasn’t just from the manager but from the players as well.
“I think we all showed that passion we got the reaction from it.
“Sometimes there has to be bad before there’s good and last night was an example of that.
“Everyone has to play their part and hopefully this result can be a catalyst for our season.”
