Kettering Town will have a mathematical chance of winning the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central title next weekend after they drew 0-0 at St Ives Town.
A second successive stalemate for the Poppies extended their unbeaten run to 13 matches and, with second-placed Aylesbury losing 1-0 at Barton Rovers, it means Kettering could claim the crown if they beat Bedford Town next Saturday and other results go their way.
Joint-bosses Thomas Baillie and Scott Machin made one change to their starting line-up as Dubi Ogbonna replaced David Kolodynski.
And Ogbonna forced Tim Trebes into an early save and Gary Mulligan also went close in the first half while Richard Knight saved well from Scott Sinclair.
Mulligan had the Poppies’ best chance of the second half when his header was cleared off the line while Trebes saved from substitute Kolodynski late on
Neither side were able to find a winner. However, the point ensured Kettering moved 12 clear at the summit with five games to play.
