Corby Town and Kettering Town were both honoured as the Evo-Stik Southern League held its annual meeting in Torquay over the weekend.

Officials from both clubs were on hand as the Steelmen and Poppies were formally presented with the respective Premier Division and Division One Central title trophies.

Corby were named Premier Division team of the year and also won the overall team of the year accolade following their stunning title success, which was secured with a last-day victory at Poole Town.

Kettering, meanwhile, were awarded the honour of being the Division One Central team of the season having won the league by 11 points.

Both clubs are now preparing for the new campaign with Corby heading into the Vanarama National League North while the Poppies’ place in the Southern League Premier Division was officially confirmed at the weekend.

Kettering have revealed that their squad, now under the leadership of Marcus Law, will return for pre-season training next Tuesday, June 30 while their new signings and official retained list will follow once players have been registered.

So far, Elliot Sandy and Gary Mulligan have confirmed they are staying at Latimer Park for the new campaign while Law revealed an option on Dubi Ogbonna’s contract for another season had also been taken up.
