Elliot Sandy scored two first-half goals as Kettering Town stretched their unbeaten league record to 19 games with a 2-0 win at Beaconsfield SYCOB.
The Poppies are now sitting sixth in the Calor League Division One Central standings, just two points behind Barton Rovers, who occupy the final play-off position, but with the benefit of a game in hand.
And with even more games over three of the teams above them, Dean Thomas’ side are well placed heaind into their final 13 games.
At Beaconsfield, just two days after an excellent victory at Daventry Town, Elliot Sandy gave the visitors a good start when he headed home from James Jepson’s free-kick in the 10th minute.
Three minutes before the break Sandy doubled his tally and his team’s lead after he converted from Josh Moreman’s pull back.
The second half was scoreless as the Poppies held on to their advantage.
Next up for the Poppies is a trip to seventh placed Northwood on Tuesday.
