Poppies sign Griffiths

AFC Sudbury V Redbridge

AFC Sudbury V Redbridge No 11 Jamie Griffiths

Kettering Town have signed midfielder Jamie Griffiths on a two-year contract.

He becomes manager John Beck’s second summer signing after centre-half Ed Palmer joined last week.

The Poppies are understood to be maintaining their pursuit of Weymouth striker Warren Byerley, although a £2,000 loan the Terras gave to the frontman for a knee operation earlier this year remains the sticking point as it will need to be paid back.

But Griffiths has put pen to paper.

He was with Ipswich Town as a youngster and made his first-team debut at Portman Road against Northampton Town in the League Cup in October 2010.

He has also played for Plymouth Argyle in the past and was most recently at AFC Sudbury before being released in May this year.

Nathan Ralph, meanwhile, has signed fro Yeovil Town.

The utility player was on loan with the Poppies during last season from Peterborough United.
