Kettering Town are set to confirm further new signings following tonight’s (Tuesday) final pre-season friendly at Barwell.
Poppies boss Marcus Law has run the rule over a number of trialists and some of the club’s under-21 players since returning to lead them into the new Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division campaign, which begins with a tough trip to last season’s runners-up Poole Town on Saturday.
It’s not yet clear what sort of team Law will field against one of his former clubs this evening with the big kick-off just a few days away.
But he did reveal that further additions to the first-team squad should be confirmed following the clash in Leicestershire.
“There will be a bit of a signing on session after the game tonight,” he said.
“But we will stick to our way or working and no names will be mentioned until the lads have put pen to paper.
“We will have to look at it and decide what we want to do this evening..
“It’s not an ideal situation having a game so close to the first weekend of the season so we will have a look and see what sort of team we can put out.
“We aren’t quite where I would like us to be but we aren’t a million miles away either.
“It takes time to build a squad and it’s certainly not something that can be done in the space of a month.
“I am reasonably pleased with the work we have done but we know we have more to do.”
