Kettering Town made it two wins out of two in pre-season with a comfortable 5-0 victory at Cogenhoe United last night.

All of the Poppies’ contracted players, including Laurie Walker and David Bridges, were given a run-out aside from Warren Byerley who is still not yet at match fitness.

Boss John Beck played a completely different team in both halves with the majority of the Poppies confirmed players featuring in the opening period as they raced into a 4-0 lead.

All the goals were scored by trialists and the Poppies are next back in action at Nene Park on Thursday when they face Stoke City’s under-21s from 7pm following a youth game against the same opposition at 5pm.
