Kettering Town’s Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division campaign ended with a 0-0 draw at promotion hopefuls Chesham United.
Chesham, who had already booked a play-off place, had the first chance of the game when Dave Fotheringham’s shot was blocked by Chris Logan in front of goal.
Logan eventually went off injured in the first half and was replaced by Louie Hamilton and it was the hosts who continued to threaten.
Dan Crowie made one good block and Michael Quirke also had to be at his best with a reflex save from a corner.
It was Crowie who had Kettering’s first real chance early in the second half when his glancing header from Nathan Hicks’ corner went just wide.
Chesham went close to taking the lead when substitute Scott Thomas shot from close-range but Quirke somehow saved with his legs.
Thomas did have the ball in the net soon after with a header but it was ruled out with the assistant referee flagging because the corner had already gone out as it was swung over.
Hicks sent a shot over for the Poppies and Crowie had a good chance as he dragged an effort wide after good work from Aman Verma.
But neither side could find a breakthrough as the game ended goalless.
