Kettering Town’s home clash with St Ives Town tonight (Tuesday) has been postponed.

The heavy rain on Sunday night left standing water on the Latimer Park surface and the club have confirmed it has not recovered in time for the game to be played.

In a brief statement, the Poppies said: “Following a pitch inspection tonight’s game at home to St Ives Town has been postponed due to the state of the pitch which remains under water in places.”

The match with St Ives will now have to be re-arranged for a Thursday night with all the remaining Tuesday evenings in the Poppies’ Calor League Division One Central season already being taken up between now and the end of the campaign.

Kettering are due to return to action at Latimer Park on Saturday when Marlow are the visitors and that is the start of a run of four games next week with trips to Chertsey Town (Tuesday), Daventry Town (Thursday) and Beaconsfield SYCOB (Saturday) following on.
