Kettering Town’s trip to fellow Calor League Division One Central play-off contenders Northwood today (Saturday) has been postponed.

An early morning inspection at Northwood Park resulted in the clash being called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Poppies will hope to return to action on Tuesday night when they are due to take on St Ives Town at Latimer Park.

But there is better news for Corby Town as they are set to play their first home game of the year with Frome Town the visitors to Steel Park in the Southern League Premier Division today.

There was an 8.30am inspection at the Steelmen’s home ground and the pitch was deemed playable to finally end a miserable period of inactivity for Corby on their own turf.

The Steelmen go into the clash on the back of three successive away victories which have taken them into the top 10 in the division.

The ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League has been hit badly by the recent poor weather.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ top-of-the-table clash at Cogenhoe United in the Premier Division was postponed on Friday, as was Desborough’s home game with Yaxley and Wellingborough Town’s Knockout Cup quarter-final at Lutterworth Athletic.

The Division One encounters involving Raunds Town, Rothwell Corinthians, Whitworth and Rushden & Higham were also called off on Friday.
